R.J. is currently leading a multi-billion dollar e-commerce platform for Apple. He is responsible for the worldwide design, product development, operations, and growth of the e-commerce platform that markets and sells Apple's flagship products including the iPhone, iPad, Mac, and iPod. In addition, he leads WW contact center technology and international expansion teams to help bring Apple to important new countries including China and Russia. Apple’s e-commerce business extends across 38 countries in 14 languages, the largest e-commerce footprint of any company online today.
Previously, R.J. worked for Google across a broad range of search products. He was responsible for driving innovation into the company's next generation consumer web search products and services that generate 30% of Google's worldwide traffic. Prior to Google, R.J. spent the last two decades building consumer Internet companies to accelerate the evolution of a commerce-enabled Web. He has applied this experience to the creation many pioneering Internet companies and projects in the field of web search, e-commerce, e-payments, and online trading. R.J. has raised over $50M in venture capital for the companies he founded or co-founded since 1992, participating in two offerings, and the sale of two other companies, while also earning his stripes with a few that didn't make it. He has also led e-business transformations at large multi-billion dollar corporations.
R.J. graduated from Stanford University with an MS in Engineering-Economics Systems. He also holds a BSE in Computer Engineering from the University of Michigan.
